Actor and former Trinamool Congress Member of Parliament Nusrat Jahan appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday at its Salt Lake office in Kolkata in connection with an ongoing investigation into an alleged housing fraud case linked to a project in Rajarhat.
The actor arrived at the CGO Complex in the morning, accompanied by her husband, actor Yash Dasgupta. She did not respond to questions from reporters present at the site, maintaining silence as she entered the ED office for questioning.
According to officials, the summons was issued after the agency received fresh inputs related to the investigation. An ED officer stated that Jahan’s appearance was required as part of continued probe into the housing scam allegations involving a private firm that allegedly misled homebuyers. The firm is accused of collecting money from prospective buyers on the promise of providing residential flats but failing to deliver on those commitments.

Investigators are examining claims that Nusrat Jahan was previously associated as a director of the company under scrutiny, a charge she has consistently denied. The case itself was triggered by a complaint filed by BJP leader Shankudeb Panda, who alleged that more than 400 senior citizens were defrauded between 2014 and 2015. According to the complaint, victims were promised 1,000 sq ft flats in exchange for payments of approximately Rs 5.5 lakh each, but neither possession of flats nor refunds were provided.
This is not the first time the actor has been questioned in the matter. She was earlier summoned by the ED in 2023 and underwent nearly six hours of interrogation in connection with the same investigation. The agency is now revisiting aspects of the case based on what officials describe as additional information that has emerged over the past few months. Nusrat Jahan has denied all allegations, including any formal role as a director in the company. The investigation remains ongoing as the ED continues to verify financial transactions, corporate records, and statements from individuals linked to the disputed housing project.
