A gruesome triple murder has rocked Delhi’s Maidangarhi, where a middle-aged couple, Prem Singh (45-50) and Rajni (40-45), and their 24-year-old son, Hrithik, were found dead in their home. The chilling discovery was made after neighbors reported a foul smell, prompting police to investigate. Prem Singh and Hrithik’s blood-soaked bodies were found on the ground floor, while Rajni’s body, her mouth tied, was discovered upstairs. The couple’s younger son, Siddharth (22-23), is missing and suspected of the brutal killings.

Police suspect Siddharth, who has been undergoing psychiatric treatment for over 12 years at institutions including the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), killed his family using knives and bricks. Documents and medications recovered from the home indicate he suffered from obsessive-compulsive disorder and aggressive behavior. A preliminary probe revealed Siddharth allegedly confessed to an acquaintance that he had murdered his family and would flee the area. “He said he killed them and wouldn’t stay here anymore,” a police source confirmed.

The village pradhan, Mohammed Shakeel Ahmed Khan, noted frequent family disputes, attributing them to Prem Singh’s alcoholism. Neighbors described the family as reserved, with one, Mukesh Tiwari, calling them “quiet and decent” but recalling Siddharth’s past episodes of running away from home.

The Maidangarhi police have sealed the crime scene, with forensic teams collecting fingerprints, blood samples, and other evidence. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death. Multiple police teams are scouring CCTV footage, questioning relatives, and coordinating with other states to trace Siddharth, whose mental health history is now a key focus of the investigation. “We’re exploring all angles, including family dynamics and his psychiatric condition,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan.

The horrific crime has left the Satbari Khark village community in shock, with residents grappling with fear and disbelief. As the manhunt intensifies, authorities are piecing together the events leading to this tragic familicide, hoping to uncover the motive behind Siddharth’s alleged actions.
