Ahead of the NEET UG Re-Test 2026 scheduled for June 21, the Delhi government has announced free travel for candidates on all Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses across the city to help students reach their examination centres without financial or logistical difficulties.
The decision allows NEET candidates to travel free of cost on DTC buses by simply showing their admit cards to bus conductors. The initiative has been introduced to ease transportation challenges for students and reduce additional stress for families preparing for the re-examination.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the move aims to ensure that students can appear for the exam with full focus and without unnecessary pressure. She noted that the cancellation of the earlier NEET UG 2026 exam had already caused mental, financial, and time-related strain on candidates and their families, making such support measures necessary.

The Chief Minister added that the government considers the time and effort of students to be of utmost importance and wants to ensure they reach their centres on time and take the examination with confidence and concentration. Authorities have clarified that the free travel facility will be valid only on June 21 and exclusively for registered NEET candidates.
Delhi has joined several states in extending similar support measures. Punjab has announced free bus travel for candidates on Punjab Roadways buses between June 20 and June 22, while Haryana and Bihar have also implemented comparable arrangements to assist students appearing for the re-test.
Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to conduct the NEET UG Re-Test 2026 under enhanced security protocols following earlier controversy. The examination is one of India’s largest medical entrance tests, with lakhs of aspirants competing annually for admission into undergraduate medical programs across the country.
