A man and his son were allegedly stabbed to death in the national capital, with police arresting a neighbour in connection with the double murder that officials say stemmed from a long-standing dispute between the families.
The incident occurred in a residential locality where tensions had reportedly been simmering for some time. According to initial police accounts, the accused, who lived in close proximity to the victims, confronted them during an argument that quickly escalated into a violent altercation. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly attacked both individuals with a sharp weapon, leaving them critically injured.
Local residents alerted the police after hearing a commotion in the area. Officers rushed to the scene and found the victims lying in a pool of blood. They were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but doctors declared both of them dead on arrival. The identities of the deceased have not been officially disclosed, pending notification of relatives and completion of formal procedures.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the attack was triggered by an old personal dispute, though the exact nature of the conflict remains unclear. Police officials said they are examining whether previous complaints had been filed and if there had been earlier attempts at resolving the issue. “There appears to have been an ongoing disagreement between the families. We are looking into all angles to establish the sequence of events,” a senior officer said.
The accused has been taken into custody and is currently being interrogated. A case of murder has been registered, and authorities are collecting forensic evidence from the scene to strengthen the case. Statements from neighbours and other potential witnesses are also being recorded to piece together a detailed account of what led to the fatal confrontation.
The incident has raised concerns about the escalation of unresolved neighbourhood disputes into violent crimes. Police have urged residents to report conflicts early and seek intervention through legal or community channels to prevent such tragic outcomes. Further investigation is underway, and officials indicated that more details will be shared as the probe progresses.
