At least 15 people were injured after a massive fire broke out in a naphtha-carrying pipeline at the Haldia Refinery in West Bengal during the early hours of Tuesday. The incident occurred between 4:00 am and 5:00 am, when flames suddenly erupted from the pipeline, triggering panic among workers and prompting an emergency response at the refinery. Several employees working in the vicinity suffered burn injuries as the fire spread rapidly, with officials confirming that some of the injured are in critical condition and are receiving medical treatment.

According to preliminary reports, the blaze originated in a pipeline carrying naphtha, a highly flammable petroleum product widely used in the production of fuels and petrochemicals. The intensity of the fire resulted in thick plumes of black smoke rising high into the sky, which were visible from surrounding areas.
