Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition in India, with prices starting at Rs 36.51 lakh (ex-showroom). The special edition introduces exterior styling changes and additional cabin features while retaining the existing SUV's mechanical setup. It is available in two variants, with a manual transmission and an automatic transmission, both featuring a rear-wheel-drive 4x2 configuration. Bookings for the new edition will begin on October 12, 2026, through Toyota's official website and authorised dealerships.
The Fortuner Leader Edition 4x2 manual is priced at Rs 36.51 lakh, while the automatic variant costs Rs 38.72 lakh, both ex-showroom. The automatic version carries a premium of Rs 2.21 lakh over the manual model. Toyota has positioned the edition as a styling-focused update rather than a major mechanical revision. The company has not announced changes to the engine, transmission specifications or performance figures for this version.
On the exterior, the SUV receives a revised front grille, gloss-black alloy wheels with matching hub caps and black rear door garnish. Other additions include a black roof, a black-finished antenna, body-side mouldings and an exclusive bonnet emblem. These elements distinguish the Leader Edition from the standard Fortuner through contrasting finishes and darker styling details. The special edition will be offered in three exterior colour options, Super White, Platinum White Pearl and Attitude Black.

The cabin receives black-and-maroon upholstery for the seats and door trims, giving the interior a contrasting colour scheme. Toyota has also added ambient lighting and illuminated scuff plates to enhance the cabin's appearance. Additional convenience features include auto-folding outside rear-view mirrors and a tyre pressure monitoring system. These additions are intended to improve everyday convenience without significantly changing the SUV's overall interior layout.
The Leader Edition will be available exclusively with a 4x2 configuration, with customers able to choose between manual and automatic transmissions. Toyota has not listed a four-wheel-drive option for this edition. The company is also offering financing facilities of up to seven years, including its Smart Balloon Finance scheme, along with five years of complimentary roadside assistance. The standard warranty covers three years or one lakh kilometres, whichever comes first, with an extended warranty available for up to five years or 2.20 lakh kilometres.
The launch adds another styling-focused option to Toyota's premium SUV range in India. The Fortuner continues to target buyers seeking a large SUV with a commanding road presence and a choice of transmission options. With the Leader Edition, Toyota has focused on cosmetic changes and additional equipment rather than introducing a new powertrain. The final purchase cost will vary depending on applicable taxes, insurance and other charges beyond the announced ex-showroom prices.
