Maruti Suzuki India Limited achieved a milestone in October 2025, recording its highest-ever monthly sales of 220,894 units and solidifying its position as India's leading passenger vehicle manufacturer. This exceptional performance, announced on November 1, underscores the company's dominance in the domestic market amid a buoyant festive season that boosted consumer spending on automobiles. With a market share consistently exceeding 40% in recent quarters, Maruti Suzuki's success reflects strategic expansions in its product lineup and robust supply chain management, even as the industry navigates challenges like semiconductor shortages and rising input costs.
The surge was propelled by strong domestic demand, with 180,675 units dispatched within India, encompassing both passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles, marking an all-time high for the month. Additionally, the company supplied 8,915 units to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and exported 31,304 units to international markets, highlighting its growing global footprint in regions like Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. In the passenger vehicle segment alone, sales reached 176,318 units, driven by the enduring popularity of affordable and fuel-efficient models tailored to India's diverse road conditions and economic demographics.
Key contributors included the compact car range—featuring bestsellers like the Baleno, Swift, WagonR, Dzire, Celerio, and Ignis—which accounted for 76,143 units, demonstrating sustained appeal among urban commuters seeking value-for-money options. The mini segment, led by the Alto and S-Presso, added 9,067 units, while the utility vehicle portfolio, including the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris, and XL6, delivered an impressive 77,571 units, reflecting a shift toward SUVs and MPVs. Complementing these were 13,537 units of the versatile Eeco van and 4,357 units from the Super Carry light commercial vehicle, catering to small businesses and logistics needs.
