The Delhi High Court has taken up a significant legal battle involving the two children of Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor, who have filed a plaint challenging the authenticity of a purported will left by their late father, Sunjay Kapur. The court, presided over by Justice Jyoti Singh, issued a notice to Sunjay’s widow, Priya Kapur, directing her to respond to the allegations and provide a comprehensive list of all movable and immovable assets known to her as of June 12. The matter is slated for further hearing on October 9, 2025.
The plaint, filed by Karisma Kapoor’s children, claims that neither Sunjay Kapur nor Priya Kapur ever mentioned the existence of the contested will during his lifetime. It alleges that Priya Kapur’s conduct strongly suggests the will is a fabrication, raising serious questions about its legitimacy. “The behavior of the defendant clearly demonstrates, without a doubt, that the alleged will has been fabricated,” the plaint asserts, accusing Priya of attempting to manipulate the estate for her benefit.
Justice Singh ordered Priya Kapur to submit her reply within two weeks, with the plaintiffs given one week thereafter to file a rejoinder. The court’s directive to disclose all assets underscores the gravity of the dispute, which centers on the inheritance of Sunjay Kapur’s estate. The case has drawn significant attention due to its high-profile nature and the involvement of Karisma Kapoor, a prominent figure in the Indian film industry.
