Tamil actor Ajith Kumar has officially announced his next film, Dare Devil, ending weeks of speculation about his return to the big screen. The project will reunite him with director Adhik Ravichandran after their collaboration on the 2025 film Good Bad Ugly. Dare Devil will be produced by Ajith’s wife, actor Shalini Ajith Kumar, under the banner of Brave Hearts Production, marking her involvement in the project as a producer.
Adhik announced the film through a post on X, accompanied by a striking promotional poster. The title “Dare Devil” appeared in bold red lettering across nine white dice arranged against a red background. The imagery suggested that the film could explore ideas involving risk, luck or gambling, although its storyline and genre have not been officially disclosed. Details concerning the remaining cast, technical crew, production schedule and release date also remain under wraps.
In his announcement, Adhik celebrated Ajith’s 34-year career and described the actor’s journey as one built on perseverance, passion and charisma. He thanked Ajith for placing his trust in him and also acknowledged Shalini for backing the film as its producer. The director said the project would be special, raising expectations among fans following the commercial attention generated by his previous collaboration with the actor.

Ajith had two theatrical releases in 2025, Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly, but did not immediately announce another feature film afterward. During the break, he concentrated on his motor-racing career, an interest he has pursued alongside acting. His extended absence from new film announcements had prompted speculation about when he would return to cinema and which director would oversee his next project.
Before Dare Devil reaches theatres, Ajith is also expected to appear in Gladiators, a documentary focused on his racing career. Directed by A L Vijay and featuring music composed by G V Prakash Kumar, the documentary will follow the actor’s experiences behind the wheel and provide a closer look at his involvement in motorsport. Further details about Dare Devil are expected as the production moves forward.
