In a stunning move, The Coca-Cola Company has appointed Hemant Rupani, a seasoned executive with a stellar track record, as the new CEO of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. (HCCB), effective September 8. Rupani steps into the role following Juan Pablo Rodriguez, who is transitioning to a new position within the Coca-Cola system.
Rupani, currently the business unit president for southeast Asia at Mondelez International, brings a wealth of experience from his nine-year tenure with the global snack giant. His leadership in markets like Indonesia, Vietnam, and Singapore has been marked by remarkable growth and innovation. Now, he’s poised to steer HCCB, India’s top Coca-Cola bottler, toward new heights.
With a career spanning over two decades, Rupani’s journey is nothing short of impressive. Starting in 1997 at ICI India Limited, he later held key roles at PepsiCo, Infosys Technologies, Vodafone, and Britannia Industries. His deep expertise in sales, marketing, and business strategy, coupled with his Indian roots, makes him a perfect fit for HCCB’s ambitious plans in the region.

A graduate of Regional Engineering College in Jaipur with a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, Rupani also holds an MBA in marketing from the University of Delhi. Reporting to HCCB’s board, he’s expected to drive the company’s significant investments in India’s booming beverage market.
HCCB, a powerhouse in India’s beverage industry, is backed by The Coca-Cola Company and recently saw Jubilant Bhartia Group acquire a 40% stake in its parent company, Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings Pvt. Ltd., in December 2024.
The Coca-Cola Company continues to refresh the world with iconic brands like Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Dasani, and Minute Maid, while innovating with sustainable practices and reduced-sugar offerings. With Rupani at the helm, HCCB is set to make waves in India’s competitive beverage landscape.
