A Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed into Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Uttara area on Monday, killing at least one person and injuring several others, officials reported.
The incident occurred shortly after the aircraft took off at 1:06 p.m., according to a defence ministry statement. The crash sparked a massive fire, with thick smoke visible from a distance. Eight Fire Service units were deployed to extinguish the blaze, while ambulances and air force helicopters rushed to the scene for rescue operations.
Lima Khanam, duty officer at the Fire Service Central Control Room, told bdnews24, “Our team recovered one body, and the Air Force rescued four injured individuals.” The identity of the deceased remains unconfirmed, and no details about the pilots have been released.

The tragic crash has raised concerns about safety protocols during training missions, with authorities yet to disclose the cause of the accident. Rescue and investigation efforts are ongoing at the site.
