Agnivesh, aged 49, passed away due to a cardiac arrest while recovering from a skiing accident at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Agnivesh Agarwal was born on June 3, 1976, in Patna, Bihar, and grew up in a middle-class family before rising to prominence in the business world. He studied at the prestigious Mayo College in Ajmer, Rajasthan, and later founded Fujeirah Gold, a venture in the precious metals sector. He went on to serve as Chairman of Hindustan Zinc, a major Vedanta subsidiary, and also held the position of chairperson at Talwandi Sabo Power Ltd. Despite his high-profile roles, Anil Agarwal remembered his son as a "simple, warm, and deeply human" individual who remained grounded and compassionate.
In a poignant tribute posted on X, Anil Agarwal recounted Agnivesh's qualities as a devoted son, protective brother, loyal friend, and gentle soul who touched many lives.
