Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani has highlighted how the new data centre in Visakhapatnam will propel India forward on multiple fronts, from technological advancement to economic sovereignty. Writing in his latest column for the Times of India, Adani emphasized that the 21st century's key resources—clean energy, data, and computational power—are essential for nations to achieve true independence and self-reliance in a rapidly digitizing world. This project, he argues, positions India at the forefront of global innovation, addressing critical needs amid escalating demands for sustainable tech infrastructure.

The initiative stems from a strategic partnership between Adani Enterprises Ltd. and Google Inc., formalized through their joint venture Adani ConneX, as announced in a recent press release. This collaboration aims to construct a sprawling data centre campus that will stand as Google's largest facility outside the United States, marking a significant milestone in international tech alliances. With an estimated investment of around $15 billion, the hub will serve as a dedicated AI center, fostering cutting-edge developments right on India's eastern coast and attracting global attention to the region's potential.

Adani described the campus as a gigawatt-scale operation entirely fueled by renewable energy, setting new benchmarks for sustainability in data management worldwide.
