A massive 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck Japan’s northeast coast on Monday, December 8, triggering widespread tsunami warnings and panic across the region. With superstar Prabhas and producer Shobu Yarlagadda recently in the country for special premiere screenings of the restored Baahubali: The Epic, millions of fans immediately feared for the actor’s safety, flooding social media with anxious queries.
Maruthi Dasari, director of Prabhas’ highly anticipated horror-romantic entertainer The Raja Saab, swiftly allayed all concerns by confirming that the actor is completely safe. Responding directly to a worried fan on X, Maruthi wrote, “Spoke453 to Darling, he is not in Tokyo and is safe, no worries,” instantly calming the massive global fanbase that affectionately calls Prabhas “Darling” ever since the 2009 blockbuster.
The reassurance came just days after the film’s electrifying trailer dropped in September, showcasing Prabhas in a never-before-seen avatar trapped inside a haunted castle, facing off against Sanjay Dutt’s terrifying exorcist-psychiatrist character in a battle of illusions, demonic possessions, and supernatural forces. The trailer’s chilling line, delivered by Prabhas himself — “I am the demon” — has already set social media ablaze.

Originally scheduled for a grand worldwide release on December 5, 2025, the makers of The Raja Saab officially postponed the film to January 9, 2026, to ensure a perfect finish. The horror fantasy boasts a stellar ensemble including Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Boman Irani, and Sanjay Dutt, with music by Thaman S, cinematography by Karthik Palani, and production design by Rajeevan.
As Japan continues to assess damage from the powerful quake, Prabhas’ fans across the globe have expressed profound relief while eagerly counting down to his return as the enigmatic Raja Saab, promising a cinematic clash of dark forces unlike anything seen before on Indian screens.
