A fresh controversy has erupted in Tollywood as Hyderabad police confirmed on Wednesday that a case has been registered against Telugu actress Dimple Hayathi and her husband following a housemaid’s complaint of harassment and abuse. The shocking allegations have sparked outrage, as the young woman claimed she was demeaned, denied proper food, and even physically threatened.
According to police sources, the complainant is a 22-year-old woman from Odisha who had been employed as domestic help at the couple’s residence since September 22. Within days of her employment, she alleged that the actress and her husband mistreated her by using abusive language and humiliating remarks. In her complaint, the maid claimed the couple mocked her self-worth, telling her that her life was not even “equal to their shoes.”
The situation escalated on September 29 when the maid attempted to record the alleged abusive behavior. She told police that Dimple Hayathi’s husband forcefully snatched her phone, smashed it on the ground, and tried to assault her. In the process of escaping, she alleged her clothes were torn, further aggravating her humiliation. Fearful for her safety, the woman managed to reach out to the authorities the same evening.

Police at the Filmnagar station confirmed that a case has been booked against the actress and her husband under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Officials added that statements have been recorded and the investigation is currently underway. Both Dimple Hayathi and her husband are yet to issue a public statement regarding the accusations.
This case has quickly gained attention across social media and the Telugu film fraternity, with many calling for a fair probe. The developments come as yet another blow to the film industry, which has faced repeated allegations of misconduct and mistreatment of employees working in celebrity households.
