Ram Charan’s latest film Peddi has opened to a respectable response at the box office, but early comparisons with his previous releases, RRR and Game Changer, reveal a significant gap in scale and earnings. While Peddi has generated strong interest in Telugu-speaking markets, it is currently trailing both films in terms of advance bookings and opening-day collections.
Ahead of its release, Peddi collected Rs 20.66 crore through advance bookings across India. Including block bookings, the figure rose to Rs 33.76 crore, with more than 8.22 lakh tickets sold across 13,145 shows. The Telugu version emerged as the primary contributor to the film’s pre-release business, accounting for Rs 19.57 crore of the total advance sales.
Despite the encouraging numbers, Peddi fell short of the benchmarks set by Ram Charan’s previous releases. Game Changer recorded Rs 26.8 crore in advance bookings, which increased to Rs 43.55 crore when block seats were included. Meanwhile, RRR remains the actor’s strongest performer in this category, having generated an impressive Rs 58.73 crore in advance bookings alone before its release.

According to live estimates from Sacnilk, Peddi has earned Rs 20.69 crore net on its opening day from 7,148 shows, with an overall occupancy rate of 42.5%. In comparison, Game Changer opened with Rs 51 crore net from 17,753 shows, while RRR delivered a massive Rs 133 crore net on its first day, setting a benchmark for Telugu cinema and Indian box-office performance.
Although Peddi trails its predecessors in overall collections, the film has demonstrated strong occupancy in several key markets. Hyderabad reported 67% occupancy, while Visakhapatnam reached 91%. Vijayawada registered 80%, Warangal 76%, Guntur 77%, and Kakinada 88%, reflecting robust regional support. Premium-format screenings also emerged as a major strength, with Telugu HDR shows in Hyderabad recording 100% occupancy and EPIQ screenings touching 99% during advance bookings, indicating strong audience interest in high-end viewing formats.
