Jennifer Aniston is stepping into a powerful new role, starring in and executive producing Apple TV+’s upcoming series adapted from Jennette McCurdy’s bestselling memoir, *I’m Glad My Mom Died*. The 10-episode dramedy, penned and showrun by Ari Katcher alongside McCurdy, promises a raw and emotional dive into the complexities of a mother-daughter bond.
Based on McCurdy’s 2022 Simon & Schuster memoir, the series explores her life as a former child star grappling with a controlling, narcissistic mother who thrives on her daughter’s fame. Aniston will portray the domineering mother, bringing her signature depth to the role of a woman obsessed with her identity as “a starlet’s mom.” The story blends heartbreak with humor, centering on an 18-year-old actress navigating a hit kids’ show and her co-dependent relationship with her mother.
Produced by Apple Studios, the series boasts a stellar executive production team, including McCurdy, Katcher, Sharon Horgan, Stacy Greenberg, Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara, Jerrod Carmichael, and Erica Kay. Aniston is producing through her Echo Films banner.
Fresh off her acclaimed performance in *The Morning Show*, Aniston is gearing up for its fourth season, set to premiere on Apple TV+ in September.
