Acclaimed Bollywood actor Divya Dutta is set to make her Telugu debut in the highly anticipated political drama series Mayasabha: The Rise of the Titans, streaming on Sony LIV from August 7. Directed by Deva Katta and Kiran Jay Kumar, the series explores friendship, ambition, and betrayal against the volatile backdrop of 1990s Andhra Pradesh politics. Dutta announced the trailer’s release on Instagram, captioning it, “A friendship tested by ambition. A rivalry that redefined leadership. A story that changed the fate of a state.”
Starring alongside Aadhi Pinisetty as Kakarla Krishnama Naidu and Chaitanya Rao as MS Rami Reddy, Dutta plays the formidable Iravati Basu, a powerful political figure. The ensemble cast includes Sai Kumar, Srikanth Iyengar, Nassar, Tanya Ravichandran, and Ravindra Vijay. Dutta, known for Veer-Zaara and Badlapur, expressed her excitement: “Firsts are always special, and I’ve long wanted to be part of Telugu cinema. My role exudes power, even in silence. I’m grateful to Deva Katta for this incredible opportunity.”
Produced by Vijay Krishna Lingamaneni and Sree Harsha under Hitmen & Proodos Productions LLP, Mayasabha promises a thrilling saga of political coups and shifting loyalties, inspired by real-life events. The series will stream in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam, marking a significant crossover for Dutta following her recent role in Chhaava with Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna.
