Tamil playback singer Swagatha S. Krishnan has publicly accused an unnamed Tamil music composer of repeated sexual abuse, describing her experience in a recent interview and stating that she now intends to pursue legal action. The singer, known for songs such as Yeno Pennae from Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum and Kaadhal Kanmani from Bachelor, alleged that the incidents had a severe emotional and professional impact on her life.
Speaking to a YouTube channel, Swagatha referred to the accused composer as the “Epstein of Madras,” without disclosing his identity. She alleged that the abuse took place inside his studio, which she initially believed was a safe professional space. According to her account, the studio was soundproof and equipped with CCTV cameras, including allegedly hidden devices, and she claimed that these conditions were used to intimidate her. She further alleged that recordings were made and later used as a means of pressure.
The singer said she later learned from other women that they had experienced similar patterns of behaviour involving the same individual. She alleged that the composer targeted independent women, built trust over time, and then used financial and professional influence to control them. Swagatha also claimed that the alleged misconduct was not isolated, suggesting that multiple women had faced comparable experiences within the same professional environment.

Swagatha further alleged that she was subjected to professional isolation and character attacks after the incident. She claimed she was falsely accused of wrongdoing and faced defamation within industry circles, with even individuals close to the accused contributing to her alleged discrediting. She said these events led to significant emotional distress and affected her ability to continue working in the Tamil music industry.
Describing the psychological impact, the singer said she required therapy and family support to cope with the trauma. She also stated that she underwent skin-related treatments due to distress linked to the alleged incidents. Swagatha said she temporarily moved away from the industry and relocated to Rishikesh to recover from the experience and regain stability.
She added that although she had previously consulted legal experts and authorities, she did not file a formal complaint at the time due to fear and lack of support. However, she now said she is determined to pursue the matter through legal channels. The allegations have not been independently verified, and there has been no official response from the unnamed composer at the time of reporting.
