Comedian Sunil Pal has reignited his ongoing feud with fellow comedian Samay Raina by posting a cryptic social media message that many users interpreted as a swipe at actor Alia Bhatt following her appearance on the first episode of India’s Got Latent Season 2.
The controversy began after Sunil shared a post on his official Facebook account in Hindi that read, “Jahaan hai gaaliya, wahaan hai Alia” (“Where there are abuses, there is Alia”). Although the comedian did not directly name Alia or elaborate on the remark, social media users widely linked the statement to her recent participation in the comedy show hosted by Samay Raina.
The post came shortly after an episode of India’s Got Latent in which Samay Raina made a light-hearted joke about Sunil during a conversation with a contestant. Referring to a brand of toothpaste mentioned on the show, Raina quipped, “Give that to Sunil also.” Alia, who appeared as a guest on the episode, was seen laughing during the exchange and later mentioned that she had watched Raina and Sunil’s appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show.

The disagreement between Sunil and Samay Raina dates back to last year, when Sunil publicly criticised India’s Got Latent for its use of abusive language and suggested that Raina learn the art of clean comedy from comedian Kapil Sharma. His comments sparked debate within comedy circles over differing styles of humour and audience preferences.
Raina later responded in his stand-up special Still Alive, where he described Sunil as “insecure” and “frustrated,” further escalating the public exchange between the two comedians. Despite both appearing on The Great Indian Kapil Show last month, their differences appear to have remained unresolved.
While neither Alia nor Samay Raina has publicly responded to Sunil’s latest post, the comment has generated significant discussion online. The episode highlights how celebrity appearances and long-running industry rivalries continue to attract attention on social media, often extending beyond the original context of television or comedy performances.
