Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna's historical action drama Ranabaali has crossed Rs 50 crore at the worldwide box office, collecting an estimated Rs 52.40 crore in its first five days in theatres. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the film achieved the milestone after domestic collections recovered on Tuesday, October 20, following a decline on Monday. However, the achievement comes amid mixed audience reviews, with criticism of its slow narration and certain sequences set during British colonial rule.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Ranabaali collected Rs 6.75 crore nett in India on its fifth day, a 25 per cent increase from Monday's Rs 5.40 crore. Its cumulative domestic nett collection reached Rs 36.20 crore, while the domestic gross stood at Rs 42.15 crore. Overseas markets contributed another Rs 10.25 crore, taking the worldwide gross to Rs 52.40 crore. The Tuesday performance marked a recovery, although daily earnings remained below the film's opening-day figure.
The film opened with Rs 9.25 crore nett in India on Friday, October 16, before collecting Rs 7.30 crore on Saturday and Rs 7.50 crore on Sunday. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana continued to account for the film's largest domestic market, contributing a combined Rs 6.65 crore to Tuesday's collections across the listed territories. Karnataka added Rs 82 lakh, while Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 13 lakh. Other listed markets accounted for Rs 20 lakh. The film also recorded 545,671 footfalls on Tuesday, taking its cumulative footfalls over five days to 2,834,728, according to the reported figures.
Despite its worldwide box-office milestone, Ranabaali has received a divided response from viewers. Some social media users have criticised the pacing and the treatment of portions set during British rule, while Rashmika Mandanna's accent has also attracted criticism. Other viewers have praised Vijay Deverakonda's performance, particularly his screen presence and the Jayamma track. The contrasting reactions have added uncertainty to the film's commercial trajectory beyond its opening weekend.
Set in 19th-century India during British colonial rule, Ranabaali follows a man who rises against British authority and stars Vijay Deverakonda in the titular role alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Arnold Vosloo. The film brings the lead actors together in a period action drama centred on resistance and colonial oppression. Its next phase at the box office will depend on whether weekday collections can remain steady and audience turnout can sustain the momentum needed to build on its first five days of earnings.
