The highly anticipated film Coolie, starring the iconic Rajinikanth, premiered across Tamil Nadu on Thursday, triggering widespread celebrations among fans. The release, coinciding with Rajinikanth’s 50th year in cinema, saw enthusiastic crowds flock to theaters for the first screenings of the action-packed entertainer directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin attended a special screening on Wednesday, with director Kanagaraj expressing gratitude for his support. Prominent actors, including Dhanush and Sivakarthikeyan, joined fans in theaters, while social media buzzed with excitement. Fans across the state marked the occasion with drumbeats and firecrackers, celebrating the film’s star-studded cast, which includes Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Sathyaraj, and Shruti Haasan.
Described as a gripping revenge saga, Coolie has already garnered attention for its chart-topping soundtrack by Anirudh R, with the song Monica and Malayalam actor Shoubin’s dance moves becoming a sensation. Kanagaraj called the project a “special” milestone, crediting Rajinikanth’s influence for its heartfelt execution. “This film is a cherished moment in my journey, shaped by Thalaivar’s guidance and the team’s dedication,” he said.
