As a combo, it doesn't get any bigger than this in Tamil films. We are talking of Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam and AR Rahman.
The trio has come together for Thug Life, and the first single from the film was formally unveiled at a star-studded function in Chennai. The song, Jinguchaa, was made public at the glitzy event with Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, Silambarasan TR (Simbu), Trisha Krishnan, Joju George, Ashok Selvan, and Aishwarya Lekshmi in attendance (all of them are part of the cast).
The song, written by Kamal and composed by Rahman has a groovy feel to it and has been instantly lapped up by the fans. Jinguchaa, described as a 'thugs' wedding anthem,' seems to have blended Rahman's signature folk-inspired rhythms with contemporary beats. The song features, among others, Kamal Haasan and Simbu in a celebratory dance sequence set against the backdrop of a vibrant wedding.

The choreography, helmed by Kruti Mahesh Midya, has already garnered attention for its energetic moves and catchy hook step. The song's clip, towards the final segment, has Kamal grooving with his usual vibrancy. His playful lyrics add to the song's charm.
Thug Life, reportedly a gangster action drama, reunites Mani Ratnam and Kamal after nearly four decades since their iconic collaboration in Nayakan. The film boasts a stellar cast, including Bollywood actors Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and Sanya Malhotra, adding a pan-Indian appeal to the project. Behind the scenes, the technical team includes cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, editor A Sreekar Prasad, and production designer Sharmishta Roy.
Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies, Thug Life is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on June 5, 2025. The film's audio rights have been acquired by Saregama, and Netflix has been announced as the official OTT streaming partner.
