Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 will arrive in theatres on October 15, with production house Sun Pictures reaffirming the previously announced release date. The clarification comes amid speculation that the sequel could be delayed because of possible reshoots. The makers have now put those rumours to rest, confirming that the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial remains on course for its planned theatrical debut. The film is expected to make the most of the festive period surrounding Dussehra.

The confirmation was accompanied by a new poster featuring Rajinikanth in his action avatar, holding a gun. The poster carries the October 15 release date along with the tagline “Alappara Kelapparom”, a phrase associated with the popular Hukum song from the first Jailer. The latest promotional material is expected to further build anticipation among fans, particularly as the sequel brings back Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, the character he played in the first film.

Speculation about a possible postponement had intensified following reports that certain portions of the film might be reshot. However, the production team has maintained that the project is progressing according to schedule. Post-production work is underway, while composer Anirudh Ravichander is continuing work on the background score. With the release date now reaffirmed, the focus is expected to shift towards completing the remaining technical work and stepping up the promotional campaign ahead of the theatrical launch.
