Singer and television personality Amit Tandon has stirred controversy by openly criticizing veteran playback singer Udit Narayan for his behaviour at a recent concert, where a video of him kissing a female fan went viral. Speaking to Filmymantra, Tandon didn’t mince words, calling Udit a “horny old man” and questioning the singer’s judgment in such situations.
“I love his singing, but I just have to say — he’s a horny old man,” said Amit. “Fans do this all the time. I’ve had shows where people try to get close, but it’s up to you how much you allow. You have to draw a line.” He added that had it been someone close to him experiencing something similar, he “would have beaten him a lot.”
Tandon acknowledged his respect for Udit’s musical legacy but emphasized the importance of public figures maintaining boundaries. “We have to set limits for ourselves. Ek dayra rakhe (Stay within limits),” he said.

The kiss in question occurred during a live performance, where Udit Narayan was seen kissing a female fan on the lips as she attempted to take a selfie. The video triggered widespread backlash online, with many calling the act “disgusting.” In his defense, Udit had said it was an expression of “unconditional love” for his fans and urged people not to overreact.
During the same interview, Amit also took a dig at Udit’s son, singer and host Aditya Narayan, calling his recent mic-throwing incident on stage unprofessional. “It reflects a ‘bigda hua’ (spoilt) attitude,” Amit said. “I don’t know him personally — he might be a good guy — but what we see in the videos paints a different picture.”
