Shortly after being named by actress Vincy Aloshious for having misbehaved with her during a film shoot under the influence of drug, Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko found himself on the run --- quite literally.

Malayalam news channels are flashing clips purportedly of him fleeing from a hotel in Kochi during a police raid targeting drug use. The incident reportedly happened last night.

The clip that has gone viral --- basically a grab of CCTV footage in the hotel lobby ---  shows a lean man running across for whatever reason. The media says that it was Shine Tom Chacko escaping from the hotel identified to be in North Ernakulam, and the incident occurred around 11 p.m. last night.  He was reportedly staying in Room 314 when the District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (DANSAF) arrived for an inspection.

Reports say that upon seeing the police, the actor reportedly escaped through the window of his room, jumping down to the second floor and breaking a sheet in the process. He then fled through the swimming pool area and exited via the staircase.

The raid itself was said to be a follwow up to the allegations levelled by Vincy Aloshious, who accused Shine of drug use and inappropriate behaviour on the set of the film Soothravakyam. Vincy claimed that Shine had misbehaved with her while under the influence of drugs, spitting out a white powdery substance during rehearsals.

The Kochi City Police confirmed that no drugs were found in Shine's hotel room during the raid. However, they are investigating the circumstances of his escape and gathering evidence related to the allegations.

Shine is in no stranger to controversies or legal troubles. He was slapped with a case  in 2015 related to cocaine, but was acquitted earlier this year in the same. The Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court criticised the police for procedural lapses in that investigation.
