Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko has formally apologised to actress Vincy Aloshious after she accused him of drug use and inappropriate behaviour during the shoot of their upcoming film ‘Soothravakyam’. The apology came during a hearing conducted by the film’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) on Monday.
The incident, which drew attention from the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce’s Monitoring Committee, led to a formal inquiry. Both Shine and Vincy appeared before the ICC, where their individual statements were recorded, followed by a joint session. According to a report by Mathrubhumi.com, Shine admitted that his conduct may have been perceived as inappropriate and said it stemmed from his “natural style”. He assured Vincy and the committee that such behaviour would not recur.
Vincy, who has chosen not to pursue legal action, expressed a preference for the matter to be resolved within the industry. She did, however, express her dismay that the accused's name had been leaked to the public. After the session, she said she would respect the committee’s decision.

The hearing took place at the Producers Association Hall. While Shine was accompanied by his family, Vincy attended the meeting alone. Sources suggest that the ICC is likely to recommend a formal warning to Shine, rather than strict disciplinary measures.
The final decision will rest with the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) and the Film Chamber.
Vincy had alleged that Shine Tom Chacko was under the influence of drugs during the shoot and misbehaved with her and others on set. This came in the wake of her public remarks during an anti-drug campaign, where she said she would no longer work with actors known to consume drugs. Her statement sparked widespread discussion online, prompting her to share further details through a video on Instagram.
Recalling the incident, Vincy said a co-actor—whom she has now identified as Shine—acted inappropriately while she was dealing with a costume issue, offering unsolicited help in a way that made her uncomfortable. She also described a rehearsal where a white substance spilled from his mouth, confirming suspicions of drug use. “It wasn’t just affecting him, but the entire atmosphere on set,” she had said, adding that the director had also confronted the actor.
