Malayalam actor Vincy Aloshious has revealed a disturbing experience on a film set that led her to publicly declare she will no longer work with actors known to use drugs. Her comments, initially made at an anti-drug campaign event, sparked debate online, prompting her to share more details via Instagram.
In her video message, Vincy said, “A few days ago, I said I wouldn’t work with people I know use drugs. After that, I received a lot of comments. So, I want to clarify why I made that decision.”
Recalling the incident, she shared, “I was shooting for a film where one of the lead actors was under the influence. He made things uncomfortable—when I had a costume issue and was going to fix it, he insisted on accompanying me, saying, ‘I can help get it ready,’ in front of everyone. It made the situation extremely awkward.”

She further added that during a rehearsal, something white spilt from his mouth, making it clear he was using drugs on set. “Everyone could see it. It wasn’t just affecting him; it was affecting the entire work environment. The director even confronted him. When drug use interferes with professionalism and the safety of others, I can’t condone it.”
Vincy acknowledged that speaking out may cost her roles but remains firm in her stance. “This is based on my personal experience. I don’t want to work in an atmosphere where people are not aware of how their actions affect others.”
Vincy Aloshious, who won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress in 2022 for ‘Rekha’, was last seen in ‘Marivillin Gopurangal’. She will next appear in ‘Soothravakyam’, alongside Shine Tom Chacko and Deepak Parambol.
