British star Lily James is set to co-star with Chris Hemsworth in Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming high-stakes action film "Subversion", described as a “‘Die Hard’ on a submarine.”
Directed by German filmmaker Patrick Vollrath and written by Andrew Ferguson, the thriller follows Hemsworth as a disgraced former naval commander who is blackmailed by a criminal cartel into navigating a submarine carrying illegal cargo through international waters.
Lily James will portray a relentless Coast Guard officer hot on his trail, adding intensity to a plot full of underwater tension and international intrigue.

Backed by Lorenzo di Bonaventura of di Bonaventura Pictures, the film promises a gripping “cat-and-mouse” showdown beneath the sea as Hemsworth’s character must evade blockades and threats both inside and outside the submarine.
James, known for roles in "Cinderella", "Yesterday", and "Pam & Tommy", continues her rise in Hollywood with this action-packed role. She’ll also appear in David Mackenzie’s upcoming thriller "Relay" alongside Riz Ahmed, and in "Swiped", a drama inspired by Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd.
Hemsworth, meanwhile, is also working on "Crime 101" with Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan, and Halle Berry, and will return as Thor in the Marvel epic "Avengers: Doomsday."
With two powerhouse leads and a tense underwater setting, “Subversion” is poised to make waves in the action-thriller genre.
