Yo Yo Honey Singh has reignited his long-running feud with fellow rapper Badshah after an old video featuring the latter resurfaced online following his appearance on comedian Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent. Honey Singh reacted to the clip with the remark “Meri gandi aulaad,” adding a fresh twist to the rappers’ years-old rivalry.

The controversy began after Badshah appeared in a bonus episode of India’s Got Latent, released for YouTube channel members on August 10. During the episode, Samay Raina asked Badshah about the origin of his stage name. Badshah said he had chosen the name himself, prompting viewers to revisit an older clip in which he had reportedly said that Honey Singh had given him the name.

After the older footage resurfaced, Honey Singh shared it on his Instagram Stories and wrote “Meri gandi aulaad,” which translates roughly to “my bad or worthless child.” His reaction quickly drew attention online as fans revisited the complicated history between the two rappers, who were once members of the hip-hop collective Mafia Mundeer.

The professional relationship between Honey Singh and Badshah eventually broke down, with the two becoming involved in disputes over several songs and credits. One of the most prominent disagreements concerned “Brown Rang”, with Badshah claiming he wrote the lyrics while Honey Singh was credited with composing the beats. The issue resurfaced in July 2025 when Badshah commented “Credits” on a social media post concerning Honey Singh.

Samay’s segment also included a short comic song performed after a contestant’s act. He referred to himself as a Honey Singh fan and mentioned “Brown Rang”, which viewers interpreted as a cheeky reference to the rappers’ past dispute. A clip from the episode subsequently circulated on social media, further drawing attention to the old rivalry.

The latest episode was the second bonus instalment of India’s Got Latent Season 2. Unlike the regular episodes, which are released on Netflix every two weeks, the bonus episodes have been released at irregular intervals. The first bonus episode arrived on July 27 and featured Raghav Juyal, Niharika NM, Rohan Joshi and Munawar Faruqui.
