Actor Sunny Deol shared an emotional behind-the-scenes video on December 20, 2025, from the sets of Ikkis, featuring his late father, legendary actor Dharmendra, on his final day of shooting. In the clip, Dharmendra expresses hope that audiences from both India and Pakistan watch the film, underscoring its message of courage and humanity drawn from the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
The video captures Dharmendra thanking the Maddock Films team and director Sriram Raghavan, describing the experience as beautifully executed. He appears emotional, calling the wrap-up day "happily sad", apologising for any mistakes, and reiterating his wish for cross-border viewership. Sunny captioned the post: "A smile that lit up the darkness. Generosity without limits. Love for my papa is deeply rooted in our hearts. He has blessed us with his final film, Ikkis."
Ikkis, a biographical war drama, chronicles the heroism of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, martyred at age 21 during the Battle of Basantar. Agastya Nanda, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, makes his big-screen debut in the lead role, while Dharmendra portrays Khetarpal's father, Brigadier M.L. Khetarpal (Retd.), in what became his posthumous performance following his passing on November 24, 2025.
