Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda has once again found himself in the spotlight—not for a film announcement, but due to candid remarks made by his wife, Sunita Ahuja. Married for nearly four decades, the couple’s relationship has recently been under intense public scrutiny amid allegations of infidelity and growing distance, all of which Govinda has strongly denied.
Amid swirling rumours of a marital breakdown, an old video featuring the couple from more harmonious times has resurfaced online. The clip, now going viral, is from their daughter Tina Ahuja’s first birthday celebration and marks one of the earliest public appearances of Govinda and Sunita as a married couple after they had kept their marriage private for years.
In the video, Govinda—then at the peak of his career—emotionally speaks about the three most important women in his life: his mother, wife, and daughter. He expresses gratitude and says he feels blessed, presenting a stark contrast to the present narrative of tension and discord surrounding the family.

When Sunita Ahuja takes the microphone, she is seen speaking with restraint and composure. She candidly admits to feeling jealous of Govinda working with “gorgeous women” in films but accepts it as part of his profession. “It’s his work. What can I say? Any woman would feel jealous, but since it’s his profession, I don’t say much,” she remarked, drawing renewed attention today.
Fast forward to the present, the tone has noticeably shifted. In recent interviews, Sunita has accused Govinda of being influenced by younger women and has hinted at emotional neglect. Govinda, however, has dismissed these claims, stating that there is a “conspiracy” to destabilise his personal life and alleging that his family is being “used” without realising it.
Govinda has publicly appealed for restraint, urging his family not to make statements that suffocate him emotionally. Meanwhile, Sunita recently told ETV Bharat that she hopes Govinda will “return home” in 2026, stressing that family is greater than money or fame. Though the couple briefly sparked reconciliation hopes during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in 2025, reports of separation continue to persist, keeping their relationship firmly in the public eye.
