Rashmika Mandanna is steadily making her mark in Indian cinema with a smart and versatile selection of films. The actress, who works across multiple film industries, reveals that she views each project as a unique opportunity rather than following any industry-specific approach.
“I’ve realized that filmmaking varies widely across industries, but I treat every film as its own individual project,” Rashmika explained in a recent interview. “Often, I focus on the character’s journey — what kind of arc does the role have? But sometimes, I’m drawn to the story as a whole and want to be a part of it regardless.”
Rashmika cited her role in the historical blockbuster Chhaava—based on Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s life—as an example. “Although the film revolves around Maharaj Sambhaji, the character Yesubai was so beautifully written that I just wanted to be part of that story.”

While she enjoys big ensemble projects like Chhaava, Rashmika is equally passionate about roles centered entirely around her, like her upcoming film The Girlfriend. “I don’t want to get typecast. I want to explore as many different characters and stories as possible.”
With her thoughtful approach and eagerness to diversify, Rashmika Mandanna continues to impress audiences and critics alike, promising an exciting journey ahead in her career.
