Actor Randeep Hooda paid a deeply emotional tribute to Sarabjit Singh on his death anniversary, recalling how portraying the late farmer-turned-prisoner left a lasting personal impact on him.Hooda, who essayed the titular role in the 2016 biopic Sarbjit, shared a heartfelt note on social media reflecting on the journey of bringing Sarabjit’s story to life. The film chronicled the tragic account of a Punjab-based farmer who inadvertently crossed into Pakistan and spent more than two decades in prison, with his family maintaining that he was a victim of mistaken identity.
In his message, Hooda described the experience as transformative, noting that what began as preparation for a role gradually evolved into something far more profound. “Your story changed me,” he wrote, adding that embodying Sarabjit helped him understand the depth of pain, silence, courage, and hope associated with the man’s life.
