The musician posted images on social media featuring actors Ranbir Kapoor and Yash alongside director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra, offering fans a glimpse of the team as anticipation grows for the film's trailer launch. Announcing the launch, producer Namit Malhotra described the project as a global cinematic retelling of one of India's greatest civilisational epics. According to the announcement, the film aims to present the timeless ideals of dharma, courage, compassion and righteousness on an unprecedented scale, introducing the ancient story to audiences across the world through modern filmmaking and visual effects.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana features a star-studded ensemble cast portraying iconic characters from the ancient Indian epic. Ranbir Kapoor will play Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi has been cast as Sita. Ravie Dubey will portray Lakshman, and Kannada actor Yash will appear as Ravana. Sunny Deol will take on the role of Hanuman, with Rakul Preet Singh playing Surpanakha. The film also stars Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi and Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, bringing together leading actors from across the Indian film industry.
The ambitious project is being produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios in association with Academy Award-winning visual effects company DNEG and Yash's Monster Mind Creations.
