Bollywood actor R. Madhavan has issued a legal notice against wellness and functional health brand Elevate Now, accusing the company of using his interview clip without permission to promote its services and misleading audiences into believing he was endorsing the platform. The actor took to social media on Wednesday, sharing a screenshot of a promotional video posted by the brand. Calling it a “fraud alert,” Madhavan alleged that the company had lifted footage from one of his past interviews and repurposed it as an advertisement without obtaining consent or authorization.
In his post, Madhavan strongly objected to the manner in which his clip was used, stating that it created a false impression of endorsement. He wrote that the brand had taken his interview segment and presented it as if he was supporting their product, questioning how such practices could be allowed to circulate on social media platforms unchecked. The actor further confirmed that a legal notice had been sent to the company. In his message, he said, “What a shame,” and criticised what he described as unethical promotional tactics.
He also warned the public to remain cautious of organisations that misuse celebrity content to gain credibility or attract customers. The controversy quickly drew reactions from fans and members of the entertainment industry. Celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim publicly supported Madhavan, praising him for taking a stand against the alleged misuse. Several social media users also shared their own concerns, claiming they had encountered similar promotional content that appeared to falsely suggest celebrity endorsements.

Some users further alleged confusion created by the viral circulation of such videos, stating that they had been influenced into engaging with or considering the services based on perceived endorsements. These reactions intensified the discussion around the use of digital content and influencer-style marketing practices without clear consent. As of now, Elevate Now has not issued a detailed public response to the allegations. The incident has once again raised broader questions about content ownership, digital manipulation of interviews, and the growing misuse of celebrity footage in online advertising ecosystems, particularly on short-video and social media platforms.
