Palash Muchhal, fiancé of Indian Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, made a quiet visit to Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj Ashram in Vrindavan on Wednesday to seek blessings from spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj. Photographs showing the music composer-filmmaker wearing a mask inside the ashram have rapidly circulated across social media platforms, marking his first significant public appearance since the high-profile wedding was indefinitely postponed.
The couple’s planned marriage, originally scheduled for November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra, was abruptly halted following successive medical emergencies. Smriti Mandhana’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, suffered a serious cardiac episode requiring hospitalization, while Palash Muchhal was simultaneously admitted with severe viral infection and acute acidity complications. Both individuals have since been discharged, yet no revised wedding date has been announced.
In the days following the postponement, speculation intensified after unconfirmed reports suggested a possible December 7 ceremony. These claims were swiftly refuted by Mandhana’s brother, who reiterated that the wedding remains “still on hold.” Notably, Smriti Mandhana removed all engagement and proposal-related content from her social media, including the widely viewed video of Muchhal’s elaborate proposal at DY Patil Stadium.

Adding to public intrigue, both Mandhana and Muchhal simultaneously updated their Instagram biographies last week to include an evil eye emoji, an action widely interpreted as a symbolic ward against negative energies surrounding their relationship. Neither party has released an official statement addressing the delay or responding to ongoing speculation.
As uncertainty continues to surround one of Indian cricket’s most anticipated unions, Palash Muchhal’s solitary pilgrimage to Vrindavan has been perceived by many as a search for spiritual solace and guidance during a challenging period for the couple and their families.
