Filmmaker and Producer Karan Johar recently revealed in a conversation on The Manyavar Shaadi Show with actors Kriti Kharbanda and Pulkit Samrat that he has never eaten at a wedding, leaving the guests and hosts visibly shocked. Johar explained, “These long queues… I feel very awkward standing with a plate and eating. I never eat at weddings.”
The discussion began when Johar asked the couple about the non-negotiables at their wedding, to which they humorously replied, “Good food.” Kriti Kharbanda further shared that her husband Pulkit, affectionately called ‘Annapurna’ at home—a Sanskrit term meaning “giver of food”—loves feeding people, which was one of the reasons she decided to marry him.
Johar’s revelation comes amidst his busy work schedule, with his upcoming production 'Tu Meri Main Tera..', starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, awaiting release. Known for his flamboyant personality and love for celebrations, Johar’s admission surprised fans, as it contrasts with the glitzy image often associated with Bollywood weddings.

The conversation also highlighted the couple’s personal wedding journey. Pulkit and Kriti tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on March 15, 2024, at the ITC Grand Bharat in Manesar, Haryana, surrounded by close friends and family. Sharing their wedding photos, the couple expressed their love through heartfelt captions emphasizing devotion and consistency in their relationship.
For the special occasion, Kriti wore a pink bridal lehenga by Anamika Khanna adorned with delicate gota work, while Pulkit looked dashing in a mint green sherwani from the same designer. The couple, who first met on the sets of the 2018 film Veerey Ki Wedding, began dating in 2019 and have often shared glimpses of their love story on social media.
Karan Johar’s candid confession about his wedding habits adds a humorous and humanizing touch to the star-studded discussions, showing that even Bollywood icons can have surprisingly relatable quirks when it comes to food and social events.
