Bollywood actor Ishaan Khatter, celebrated for his role in the critically acclaimed film Homebound, is set to participate in an exclusive Fireside Chat at the NDTV World Summit 2025 during the Edge of the Unknown session on October 18 in New Delhi. The 29-year-old, whose career has seen a meteoric rise, is riding high on the success of Homebound, India’s official entry for the Oscars 2026.
Born on November 1, 1995, to actors Rajesh Khattar and Neelima Azeem, Ishaan is the half-brother of Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor. He completed his schooling at Jamnabai Narsee School and Billabong High International School in Mumbai, later attending RIMS International School and Junior College. His early exposure to the film industry shaped his path, leading to his debut as a child artist in the 2005 comedy-drama Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi! alongside Shahid Kapoor.
Khatter’s breakthrough came with his lead role as Amir in Majid Majidi’s 2017 thriller Beyond the Clouds, earning him the Best Actor award at the International Bosphorus Film Festival in Turkey. In 2018, he starred opposite Janhvi Kapoor in Dhadak, a remake of the Marathi film Sairat, securing the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Male. His recent performance in Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound, which premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard category, garnered a nine-minute standing ovation and has positioned him as a prominent figure in Indian cinema.

Beyond acting, Khatter contributed as an assistant director on Udta Punjab (2016), showcasing his versatility.
