Actors Lakshya and Raghav Juyal opened up about their seamless transition from on-screen adversaries in the 2023 action thriller Kill to portraying best friends in the upcoming Netflix series The Ba*ds of Bollywood, marking the directorial debut of Aryan Khan, son of Shah Rukh Khan. The multi-genre series, produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment, promises an exhilarating journey through the glamorous yet challenging world of Bollywood, with a stellar cast including Sahher Bambba, Mona Singh, Anya Singh, Manoj Pahwa, Gautami Kapoor, and cameos from industry giants like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Karan Johar, and Ranveer Singh.
Reflecting on their reunion, Juyal shared, “Lakshya and I understand each other; we share the same circle of friends. We come as a package.” Their off-screen camaraderie, forged during the filming of Kill, where Juyal played a menacing train robber and Lakshya a commando, translates into a vibrant on-screen bromance in the new series. Lakshya praised Juyal’s authenticity, stating, “He speaks from his heart. There’s a transparency and honesty in him. His natural humor and comedic timing are something I’ve learned from, as comedy is the toughest craft for any actor.” Playfully, Lakshya added that he wouldn’t mind a romantic role opposite Juyal in a future project.
In The Ba*ds of Bollywood, Lakshya portrays an ambitious young actor navigating the film industry, drawing inspiration from Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic charm. “I referenced myself and Shah Rukh sir’s interviews for the role. Whenever I felt stuck, Aryan, being the creator and director, guided me perfectly,” Lakshya revealed. He humorously noted emulating Shah Rukh’s charismatic persona in his personal life, though admitting, “There’s no better charmer than him.” Juyal, meanwhile, modeled his character after a close friend, Tabesh, whose bold and resourceful nature mirrored the role’s traits. “My character makes daring choices and thrives on ‘jugaad,’ just like my friend,” Juyal explained.

Both actors, outsiders who carved their paths in Bollywood, expressed gratitude for the opportunities the industry has provided. Lakshya, who debuted in Kill after working in television and facing the shelving of Karan Johar’s Bedhadak, reflected, “This industry has given me a name and a voice. I met good and bad people, but it’s about choosing to keep the good ones close. That’s what stays with you.” Juyal, a former dancer known for Nawabzaade, the ABCD franchise, and hosting Dance Plus, echoed this sentiment: “This industry gave me everything—my house, car, fame, and stability. I can never speak negatively about it. Mumbai has given me a voice.”
The Ba*ds of Bollywood is described as an “unabashed, entertaining ride” through the adventures of a charming outsider in Bollywood’s glitzy yet treacherous landscape. With Aryan Khan at the helm, the series combines humor, drama, and insider perspectives, amplified by the dynamic chemistry of Lakshya and Juyal. Their shared journey as outsiders who found success underscores the series’ themes of ambition, resilience, and camaraderie, making it a highly anticipated addition to Netflix’s lineup.
