India’s festive season has sparked a surge in automobile purchases, with Dhanteras fueling demand as buyers flock to showrooms for new vehicles. Joining the celebratory rush, actor-director-producer Farhan Akhtar has acquired the opulent Mercedes-Benz Maybach GLS600, a flagship SUV priced at approximately Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom). A video shared online captured Akhtar stepping out of the garlanded vehicle in Bandra, hinting at a fresh delivery from the dealership.
The Mercedes-Benz Maybach GLS600, imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), is the brand’s most expensive SUV in India, available in a single variant. Its striking design features a prominent chrome-finished grille, chrome accents on the B-pillar, and the iconic Maybach emblem on the D-pillar, embodying luxury and sophistication. The vehicle’s aesthetic appeal aligns perfectly with its premium positioning in the Indian market.
Powering the Maybach GLS600 is a formidable 4.0-liter V8 engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, delivering 557 hp and 730 Nm of torque, with an additional 22 hp and 250 Nm from the hybrid unit when required. Mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox, the SUV channels power to all four wheels, ensuring a blend of performance and refinement suited for a celebrity like Akhtar.
