Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has been spotted behind the wheel of the high-performance Land Rover Defender Octa, drawing attention from automobile enthusiasts and fans alike. At 83, the Bollywood icon was seen driving the flagship version of the luxury SUV, which packs a 635-horsepower engine and is regarded as the most powerful model in the Defender lineup.

A video of Amitabh Bachchan driving the Defender Octa has surfaced online, showing him confidently handling the premium SUV. The vehicle is reportedly owned by his son, Abhishek Bachchan. While the veteran actor owns several luxury cars, public appearances of him driving are relatively rare, making the sighting notable.

The Defender Octa was launched in India in 2025 at an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.59 crore. Based on the Defender 110, the SUV features a more rugged design with a larger grille, flared wheel arches and 22-inch alloy wheels wrapped in all-season tyres. The model seen in the video is finished in Petra Copper, one of several colour options available for the performance SUV.

Inside, the Defender Octa offers a premium cabin equipped with an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, semi-aniline leather upholstery, upgraded seating and a centre-console refrigerator, along with several luxury and convenience features. The SUV combines off-road capability with high-end comfort, making it one of Land Rover's flagship offerings.

Powering the Defender Octa is a BMW-sourced 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 mild-hybrid petrol engine producing 635 hp and 750 Nm of torque, which can increase to 800 Nm in Off-Road Launch Mode. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, enabling the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds while reaching a top speed of 250 kmph.
