Veteran Actor Amitabh Bachchan has reflected on professional regrets and the challenges of keeping pace with rapid change, admitting that time and age have diminished his energy to learn new skills as quickly as before. The 83-year-old shared his thoughts in a candid blog post, offering insights into how evolving work environments have reshaped the way he approaches his craft.
Bachchan, one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated figures with a career spanning over four decades and four National Awards for Best Actor, wrote that learning remains a daily process. However, he expressed regret that many skills he is now trying to acquire were either unavailable or not prioritised earlier in his career. He noted that while learning continues, the desire, effort, and energy to do so naturally decline with time and age.
Commenting on the pace of modern innovation, Bachchan said new systems and technologies evolve so rapidly that by the time one begins learning them, they are already being replaced. He described this reality as a key takeaway from recent professional meetings, prompting him to focus on understanding the basics and relying on skilled specialists for execution.

The actor highlighted a shift in workplace culture, explaining that in today’s environment, it is acceptable to acknowledge limitations and outsource tasks to experts. He wrote that hiring the right talent to complete a job efficiently has become a practical solution, calling it a significant relief compared to earlier times when not knowing a skill often meant missed opportunities.
Bachchan concluded by contrasting past and present professional attitudes, noting that earlier generations often regretted not knowing how to do a job themselves, while today’s approach allows collaboration and delegation. On the work front, he recently wrapped up the 17th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati and was last seen in the Tamil-language action drama Vettaiyan, underscoring his continued presence across film and television despite his reflections on time, learning, and change.
