Bollywood’s titans Aamir Khan and Salman Khan are squaring off in a playful yet intriguing showdown to claim the title of the real ‘Sikandar,’ sparked by a viral moment ahead of Salman’s much-anticipated film release.
On Tuesday, Salman dropped a bombshell Instagram video featuring himself, Aamir, and director AR Murugadoss, captioned, “Amar Prem ka Andaaz with AR Murugadoss! #SikandarMeetsGhajini.” In the clip, Aamir cheekily asks, “Between me and Salman, who is the real Sikandar?”—leaving Murugadoss pondering and fans buzzing.
The face-off ties into Salman’s Sikandar, an action-packed Eid 2025 release hitting theaters March 30, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and starring Rashmika Mandanna. Murugadoss, who helmed Aamir’s 2008 blockbuster Ghajini, hinted to The Times of India that Sikandar mirrors its predecessor’s emotional depth, swapping a love story for a husband-wife saga with a “surprise element.”
Aamir’s rumored five-minute cameo, teased on X, has only fueled the rivalry speculation.
Aamir, dubbed “Mr. Perfectionist,” boasts a legacy of versatility—think Lagaan, Dangal, and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992), where he literally played a ‘Sikandar’ of sorts. His methodical brilliance contrasts with Salman’s raw charisma, seen in mass hits like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and now Sikandar, where he embodies a purpose-driven warrior.
Their 1994 cult classic Andaz Apna Apna showcased their chemistry, but off-screen, Aamir once called Salman “rude” before a 2002 reconciliation cemented their bond.
Box office clout leans toward Salman, with a net worth of Rs 2,900 crore and a knack for blockbusters, per Forbes. Aamir, at Rs 1,862 crore, counters with critical acclaim and global reach—Dangal alone raked in over Rs 2,000 crore worldwide.
So, who’s the real ‘Sikandar’—the conqueror? Aamir’s artistry or Salman’s star power? As Sikandar nears, fans might just crown them both.
