Skoda Auto India unveiled the Kodiaq Lounge, a new entry-level variant of its flagship SUV, priced competitively at Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned below the Sportline and Laurin & Klement (L&K) trims, the Lounge makes the Kodiaq more accessible while retaining the same robust mechanical package, aligning with recent GST 2.0 revisions that set the Kodiaq range between Rs 39.99 lakh and Rs 45.96 lakh.
The Kodiaq Lounge undercuts the Sportline by Rs 3.77 lakh and the top-tier L&K by Rs 5.97 lakh, offering a compelling value proposition. It competes favorably against rivals like the Citroën C5 Aircross (Rs 37.32 lakh) and Hyundai Tucson (Rs 27.32-33.64 lakh), while remaining more affordable than the Volkswagen Tiguan R Line (Rs 45.73 lakh). This pricing strategy broadens the Kodiaq’s appeal in the premium SUV segment.

Externally, the Lounge stands out with 18-inch Mazeno alloy wheels, a sleek yet simpler design compared to the larger wheels on higher trims. Buyers can choose from three color options—Moon White, Magic Black, and Graphite Grey—while premium shades like Race Blue, Velvet Red, Steel Grey, and Bronx Gold are reserved for the Sportline and L&K variants.
The Kodiaq Lounge adopts a 5-seat configuration, unlocking a spacious 786-litre boot, significantly larger than the 281 litres in the 7-seat variants. The cabin features grey faux-suede and fabric upholstery paired with a two-spoke steering wheel, delivering a refined yet understated aesthetic. While it omits premium features like gesture-controlled tailgate, a 360-degree camera, a 12.9-inch touchscreen, and the 13-speaker Canton audio system, the Lounge includes a 10.4-inch touchscreen and a 100W 9-speaker sound system, ensuring essential technology and comfort.
Mechanically identical to its siblings, the Lounge is powered by a 204hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive. This setup delivers the same dynamic performance and confident handling that define the Kodiaq, ensuring no compromise on driving experience despite the lower price point.
The launch of the Kodiaq Lounge reflects Skoda’s commitment to balancing affordability with premium quality, making its flagship SUV accessible to a wider audience while maintaining its reputation for performance and sophistication.
