Porsche will launch the Cayenne Electric in India on September 30, expanding its electric vehicle lineup with a luxury SUV positioned above the brand’s existing Taycan and Macan Electric models. The Cayenne Electric will be available in standard and Turbo Electric versions, with ex-showroom prices listed at ₹1.77 crore and ₹2.27 crore respectively. The electric SUV will compete with premium models such as the BMW iX, Audi Q8 e-tron and Lotus Eletre in India’s growing luxury EV market.
Both variants will use a 113 kWh battery and dual electric motors with all-wheel drive. The standard Cayenne Electric produces 408 hp and 835 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds. Porsche claims a driving range of up to 642 km for this version. The Turbo Electric is considerably more powerful, producing 1,156 hp and 1,150 Nm, while completing the 0-100 kmph sprint in just 2.5 seconds and offering a claimed range of 623 km.
The SUV will come with adaptive air suspension as standard, while rear-axle steering will be available as an option. Porsche says its regenerative braking system can recuperate up to 600 kW of energy, with the electric motors handling most of the braking duties. The Cayenne Electric will also introduce an optional 11 kW wireless charging system, allowing compatible charging equipment to replenish the vehicle without a conventional cable connection.

In terms of design, the Cayenne Electric retains the familiar proportions of the conventional Cayenne but receives several changes specific to an electric powertrain. The front features a cleaner fascia with slim HD Matrix LED headlights, active aerodynamic vents and redesigned air intakes. Gloss-black body elements, distinctive lighting signatures and 20- to 22-inch alloy wheels add to its appearance, while the rear gets a full-width LED light bar with illuminated Porsche lettering.
The Cayenne Electric measures 4,985 mm in length and has a 3,023 mm wheelbase. Its aerodynamic design gives it a claimed drag coefficient of 0.25. Practicality includes a 90-litre front trunk and a 781-litre rear boot, which can expand to 1,588 litres when the rear seats are folded. The Turbo Electric also receives additional active aerodynamic elements and a body-coloured skid plate.
Inside, the SUV gets a technology-focused cabin with a curved digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen. An optional 14.9-inch passenger display and augmented-reality head-up display are also available. Other features include electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, four-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone charging and a 14-speaker Bose audio system, with a 20-speaker Harman Kardon system available as an upgrade.
