Mercedes-AMG has officially launched the GLE Coupe Performance Edition in India, priced at Rs 1.52 crore (ex-showroom). Positioned above the standard AMG GLE Coupe, this new edition is designed for enthusiasts seeking a more dynamic and chassis-focused driving experience. The Performance Edition emphasizes both power and handling, catering to luxury SUV buyers who prioritize sportiness alongside refinement.
The GLE Coupe Performance Edition is powered by a 3.0-litre inline-six turbo-petrol engine, producing 435 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and full-time all-wheel drive. Mercedes-AMG claims the SUV accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 5.3 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 250 kmph. The vehicle features an adaptive suspension system and AMG-tuned exhaust mapping, enhancing both ride comfort and acoustic performance.
The Performance Edition is distinguished by the standard AMG Dynamic Plus Package, which boosts on-road agility. Key features include AMG-specific active roll stabilisation, sharper body control, and a more aggressive braking setup with red-painted calipers on both axles. Inside the cabin, the Performance Edition features an AMG-badged steering wheel, emphasizing a sporty driving environment. The exterior is further highlighted by exclusive 22-inch black-finished alloy wheels, projecting a strong performance-oriented stance.

Design elements reinforce the SUV’s aggressive character. At the front, the car sports a large AMG grille with chrome-finished vertical bars and LED projector headlights with daytime running lights. The rear design includes LED taillights, a boot-lid-mounted spoiler, and dual tailpipes integrated into the bumper, emphasizing its sporty appeal. These visual cues differentiate it from the standard GLE Coupe and underscore its high-performance intentions.
Inside, the cabin combines luxury with technology. Two 12.3-inch displays serve as the instrument cluster and infotainment interface, supported by a head-up display. Comfort features include a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, four-zone climate control, and power-adjustable front seats with ventilation, heating, and memory functions. A 13-speaker Burmester audio system completes the premium experience, offering high-quality sound for all occupants.
