Maruti Suzuki India, the nation’s leading automobile manufacturer, announced significant price reductions across its vehicle lineup, effective September 22, to pass on the benefits of a recent GST rate cut to customers. The price cuts, ranging from Rs 46,400 to Rs 1.29 lakh, apply to a wide range of models, making Maruti Suzuki’s popular vehicles more accessible to buyers.
According to a regulatory filing, the entry-level S Presso will see the highest reduction of up to Rs 1,29,600, followed by the Alto K10 with a cut of up to Rs 1,07,600. Other models benefiting include the Celerio (up to Rs 94,100), Wagon-R (up to Rs 79,600), Ignis (up to Rs 71,300), Swift (up to Rs 84,600), and Baleno (up to Rs 86,100).
The Tour S and Dzire will see reductions of up to Rs 67,200 and Rs 87,700, respectively, while the Fronx and Brezza will each be reduced by up to Rs 1,12,600 and Rs 1,12,700. The Grand Vitara’s price will drop by up to Rs 1.07 lakh, the Jimny by up to Rs 51,900, the Ertiga by up to Rs 46,400, and the XL6 by up to Rs 52,000. Additionally, the Invicto will be reduced by up to Rs 61,700, the Eeco by up to Rs 68,000, and the Super Carry LCV by up to Rs 52,100.
This price revision follows a government decision to lower the GST rate from 28% to 18% on petrol, CNG, and LPG cars with engines up to 1200cc and a length not exceeding four meters, as well as diesel cars with engines up to 1500cc within the same length limit, effective September 22.
Maruti Suzuki’s move reflects its commitment to passing on cost savings to customers, reinforcing its position as a consumer-centric brand in India’s competitive automotive market.
