Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra has confirmed that its next born-electric SUV, internally codenamed B07, will make its market debut in 2027. The upcoming model will be the production version of the Mahindra BE.07 concept, which was first showcased during the company’s Born Electric event in August 2022. At that showcase, Mahindra unveiled five futuristic concepts — XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07 and BE.09 — outlining its long-term electric mobility roadmap.
The BE.07-based SUV was earlier expected to arrive by late 2026, but the timeline has now been pushed to 2027. The update was shared by Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO of Mahindra’s Auto and Farm division, during a recent earnings call. He clarified that B07 is only an internal codename and that the final production vehicle will carry a different name when launched.
Since the 2022 reveal, Mahindra has already brought three of its born-electric concepts to market. The Mahindra BE.05 entered production as the BE6, while the XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 evolved into the XEV 9S and XEV 9e, respectively. These launches have helped establish the brand’s presence in the EV segment. Within a year, the BE6 and XEV 9e reportedly crossed 41,000 units in combined sales, with the XEV 9S joining the portfolio more recently. The upcoming B07 is expected to serve as a key volume driver and further strengthen Mahindra’s electric line-up.

The production-spec BE.07 will be underpinned by Mahindra’s INGLO architecture, the dedicated EV platform that also supports its existing electric SUVs. Battery pack options are likely to range between 60 kWh and 80 kWh, offering flexibility in driving range and performance. While the final design details remain undisclosed, the concept model previewed a bold, futuristic look along with a high-tech cabin layout.
Inside, the BE.07 concept featured a wide triple-screen dashboard setup, a panoramic sunroof, and a minimalist interior with limited physical buttons. Touch-based and haptic controls were central to its design philosophy. Based on Mahindra’s recent EV launches, the production version is expected to offer advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), connected car technology, large digital displays, and over-the-air software updates when it arrives in 2027.
