Hyundai Motor India Limited unveiled the all-new Hyundai Venue on Tuesday with a starting price of Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom), marking its global debut and positioning it as a formidable competitor to Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Motors Nexon in the compact SUV segment. Produced exclusively at the company’s newly established Pune manufacturing facility, the model enters a high-volume market segment that records approximately 96,000 units in monthly sales, benefiting significantly from recent Goods and Services Tax reforms that have enhanced affordability and demand across various customer segments in India.
Unsoo Kim, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor India Limited, emphasized the strategic importance of the launch, stating that the Venue represents the first product from the advanced Pune plant and initiates a roadmap of 26 new models planned by 2030. The company has committed over Rs 45,000 crore in long-term investments to strengthen its presence in the Indian automotive sector. Alongside the standard Venue, Hyundai also introduced the performance-focused Venue N Line, reinforcing its comprehensive approach to capturing diverse buyer preferences within the rapidly growing SUV category.
The development of the new Venue involved an investment of Rs 1,500 crore, resulting in a vehicle that is taller, wider, and equipped with a longer wheelbase compared to its predecessor. Constructed on the advanced Global K1 enhanced Platform, it incorporates Hyundai’s next-generation Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) system powered by NVIDIA technology for superior in-car connectivity and user experience. Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, disclosed that the Pune facility has an initial annual production capacity of 170,000 units, dedicated solely to the Venue and Venue N Line variants to support both domestic sales and international exports.

Garg projected a minimum 20 percent increase in sales following the launch, building on the model’s established success since its 2019 introduction, during which over 700,000 units have been sold, consistently placing it among the top three compact SUVs in India. Current monthly domestic sales stand at 9,000 units, with 600 units exported. The new Venue will be shipped to 30 countries, expanding Hyundai’s global footprint. Garg highlighted the model’s appeal to young, aspirational professionals seeking a blend of performance, technology, and urban mobility, further solidifying Hyundai’s leadership in the SUV segment.
The powertrain lineup includes the Kappa 1.2L MPi petrol, Kappa 1.0L Turbo GDi petrol, and U2 1.5L CRDi diesel engines, with no CNG or electric variants offered at launch. On safety, the Venue features over 65 advanced systems, including 33 standard across all trims.
